Central America is a narrow strip of land between the North American continent and the South American continent. It is considered part of North America, and it is made up of such tropical countries as Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama and El Salvador. Mexico is often mistaken for a part of Central America as the language and culture of these parts have so much in common. The Pacific coast of Central America is a thin intermittent section in the northern part of the straight lines in the south with many dissected bays such as Fonseca, Nico, Chiriquí, Montijo, Panama, forming a series of peninsulas like Nicoya, Osa, Azuero and others.
