The most popular beaches in Turkey stretch along the shores of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas. Such resorts as Izmir, Kusadasi, Bodrum, Marmaris and Fethiye are located on the Aegean Sea. Kemer, Antalya, Belek, Side and Alanya are on the Mediterranean side. The shores of the Marmara Sea in the west and the Black Sea in the north are not less picturesque, but not so popular among the tourists. On the beaches of the Aegean Sea pebbles prevail. On the Mediterranean, you can find all kinds of beaches: sandy in Belek and Side and rocky coves in Kemer and Antalya. An interesting fact is that almost one hundred beaches of Turkey are awarded with the Blue Flag, the symbol of environmental purity.
