North-western part of Antigua is famous for such beautiful beach areas as , Dickenson Bay and Hawksbill beach. This is a wonderfully quiet area with long beaches with magnificent white sand, calm waters and a handful of small but very comfortable hotels.
The coast of south-western part of the Antigua is less developed for comfortable tourism, nevertheless, you can find such beautiful beach areas as, Darkwood Beach, Turner Beach, Jolly Bay, on the shore around Point-Johnson, as well as Rendezvous Bay.
Long Beach on the island of Barbuda is considered among the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Antigua and Barbuda are surrounded by coral reefs where you can find numerous of sunken ships. Its an ideal location for diving and snorkeling especially good is Half Mood Bay .
Many diving areas are very close to the shore, rarely more than fifteen minutes away by boat. And the underwater world of the islands is truly magnificent: parrotfish, angelfish, wrasse and barracuda, nurse sharks, dolphins and sea turtles.
The reefs are mainly found in pristine condition, and although the depth is small, there are some good marine canyons and shipwrecks. |
