Located in the Caribbean Sea, Costa Rica is a real open-air museum of biology. The country that occupies only 0.03 percent of the planet's surface, has approximately 5 percent of the global biological diversity . Costa Rica is a country-preserve, where the wild nature is surrounded by mountains and the ocean. Major attractions of the country are its national parks, caves, waterfalls, picturesque valleys, volcanoes and best beaches with white sand. Montezuma, Tamarindo, Mal Pais and Nicoya for example have many wonderful beaches of the Pacific as Playa Conchal, Hermosa, Samara and Flamingo.

Manuel Antonio. Four beaches are located within the park such as Manuel Antonio, South Espadillo, Escondido, and Pleyita. With their large sandy hills, it is easy to understand why they attract so many people of all ages. They are divided from each other by "Tombolo" a natural wall, formed by the accumulation of sand. Visitors can enjoy an hour-long walk from Espadillo to the top of Punta Cafedral. And Manuel Antonio, and Espadillo have a lot of tidal pools which provide great diving.
View Larger Map	There are no lifeguards, you need to be careful as there are many strong undercurrents.In addition, everyone must leave the park before 4:00 pm due to the fact that the coming tide can cut you off the park and there is a danger of crocodiles in the area. Playa Dominical. Located some 30 miles away from Manuel Antonio National Park, it is Costa Rica's best beach for surfing and great nightlife Montezuma. This beach was recently awarded the 'blue flag' for the purity of the coast and waters. The choice of entertainment here is impressive, from the horse walks through the rain forest to the cruise, where you can do fishing and scuba diving. You can find Montezuma beach on the peninsula of Nike, between the reserves of Curu and Cabo Blanco. Its a 25 minute flight or an 4,5 hour drive from San Jose, 5 miles away from the domestic airport of Tambor. Tortuguero. Situated at Costa Rica's Caribbean side, Tortuguero beach is a dream place of ecotourism.
Playa Tamarindo. Tamarindo beach is situated in Guanacaste province on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Tamarindo has a long beach with perfect waves near the shore. There are two main places for surfers - a rocky Pico Pequeno front of the hotel Tamarindo, and excellent place called El Estero. Other beaches are ideal for learning to surf.The biggest wave here reaches a height of 12 feet - but it happens only in November and December. Tamarindo can successfully be used as a starting point for visits to other surfing sites as Casitas, Playa Grande in the north and Langosta on the south. Playa Grande - the place to where the leatherback turtles come for laying eggs. These turtles are there from November to April, digging their nests of one meter deep. The beaches in these parts are for the most part very clean, the efforts of the Government and local businesses make themselves known. Jaco Beach. This beach is right in the center of the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Its a surfer's paradise with with a huge number of attractions. Tambor Bay. Famous for whale watching with pink-gray beaches.
