In the new part of Havana on the embankment of El Vedado, along the Malecon waterfront and the streets of La Rampa there are numerous villas and hotels for all tastes with excellent service. Along the bay in the Cubanacan area there is an entire series of perfectly equipped beaches and yacht clubs, as well as a large amusement park.
Cayo Guillermo is a small island located in the Atlantic Ocean. It is connected to the neighboring island of Cayo Coco and Cuba. This island is uninhabited, its a protected area with exceptional flora and fauna and covered with mangrove and palm groves. The beaches of Cayo Guillermo are considered among the best in the Cuban archipelago, fine sand, very clean sea and silence reigning everywhere impresses all the guests visiting the island. El Paso and Playa Pilar are the main beaches of the island with a huge sand dune of 15 meters high. The coral barrier, located in the province of Ciego de Avila, occupies an area of more than 400 km and is the world's second largest after the Australian Great Barrier Reef. Cayo Guillermo was one of the favorite places of Hemingway and his boat still stands on the laid up at the beach Pilar. Cayo Guillermo water here is so clean that it resembles a giant aquarium.
Cayo Coco is the fourth largest island of Cuba. It is located in the Atlantic Ocean, opposite the northern coast of the province of Ciego de Avila, and is connected to the main island with a 20-kilometer road leading to the sea. Cayo Coco's nature is rich and virtually untouched by people. The inner part of the island is a complete wilderness, which is home to many birds, including pelicans, flamingos and snow-birds "Coco", which gave the name to this island. There are more than 26 km of beaches stretching to the north. Such beaches as La Hawley, Los Flamencos and Las Colorados are ideally suited for water tourism.
Cayo Largo is located almost in the center of the Cuban archipelago, 177 kilometers from Havana and 170 kilometers from Varadero. Its an area of recreational diving. The reefs of Cayo Largo are decorated with all kinds of Caribbean corals, gorgon and marine sponges. The southern coast of the island is a vast beach stretching for 27 kilometers, covered with the finest white sand.
Cayo Santa Maria is located in the Atlantic Ocean, near the islands of Cayo Coco and Cayo Guillermo. Cayo Santa Maria is linked to the mainland by a dam of 48,6 km. There are small islands near the island such as Las Brujas and Ensenchos. The islands have beautiful beaches with soft white sand and very clean water. |
