Dominican Republic is located on the island of Hispaniola, washed by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other. This country combines the beauty of tropical forests, white sand beaches, picturesque mountains, endless plains and amazing waterfalls. Dominican Republic is ready to offer golden sand on its beaches to the millions of tourists who come here from all over the world. DR has a wide choice of beaches is not easy to decide which ones are the best. On most of the beaches there are no sharks nor other dangerous sea creatures because they are fenced off from the ocean by coral reefs. Swimming in the open sea is quite dangerous because of the nature of the coastal currents that are sufficiently rapid. The water temperature is constant almost throughout the year: 28-30 degrees Celsius.

You will be offered cooked sea fish, lobsters, shrimp, oysters and other seafood. You can get to Playa Grande by the highway number 5 from Rio San Juan or Nagua. It is usually a lonely beach that gives it its peculiar charm. You can enjoy hours of peace and quietness, swim in the turquoise clear waters, rent a canoe and have a delicious meal of freshly caught fish.

The multinational public enjoys scuba diving, snorkeling, numerous bars, cafes. The beaches of the northern part of the island are distinguished by strong waves, colder water and large gray sand.
The eastern coast of the island has the largest coral reef in the country. The local beaches are the pearls of the east coast, if not of the country as a whole. It seems that the crystal clear water, snow-white soft sand and tall palm trees are here just for you to admire. You can find facilities for water sports, plenty of restaurants and a rich nightlife, golf courses, spas, tropical gardens and even mini-zoos.

Most visitors of the east coast arrive to the airport of Punta Cana. The most famous and chic resort of Punta Cana is Playa Bavaro, situated 25 km from the international airport of Punta Cana. Pearly-white beaches of Bavaro with a forest of coconut palms are considered the best in the Dominican Republic and one of the best in the world. Despite the shallow waters, the tourists are actively involved in windsurfing and water skiing, scuba diving and even sailing.

Sosua Beach is always crowded, but you can find a quite secluded place.
