Today is the 19th of April 2010. We decided to have a second look at the nice beach, nearest to our rented condo in Sosua. 10 am in the morning, the second video at the bottom, seems like there are no big waves. Ok, off we go. The beach is really nice and calm, just a few people around, no locals. The skies are a bit cloudy but the sun is still strong enough to burn you. Got an umbrella for $RD 100, which is around $3 US. There is a coral cliff on the left, looks nice, so i went to snorkel all the way to that cliff. The water is transparent, some little fish around, the sandy dune-like bottom is pleasant to my eyes. Playa Alicia is located in the center of Sosua just head towards the ocean from the main square. You will see a restaurant to your right, its called "Waterfront", just walk through it and take the steps leading down to Playa Alicia. We will be here for a while, so i would like to take a few videos of sunsets, they say they are the most beautiful here when the sun passes the Isabella Mountain and takes a snorkeling trip into the ocean just to magically return from the other side of the island. |
