Vacation time continues, we are still in the Dominican Republic - on the island of bananas and dancing and always smiling mulattoes. Having escaped from the city bustle, noise, cars, and endless passersbys, we immersed ourselves in the wonderful atmosphere of sunny days, humid ocean air, tropical greenery and endless empty beaches.
Fresh morning breeze follows us to Playa Rincon this time. Three hours drive on winding roads from Sosua to Samana peninsula, pasting small towns and villages along the northeast coast of the island. On this trip of beautiful scenery with water meadows and lush green hills, we were moving in the direction of Samana city. Those rounded, perfectly shaped mountains covered with fresh green colors welcome us as we enter the peninsular. There goes the turn to Samana city but we keep driving towards the turning on the main road into the country side. There goes our offroad vehicle, showing its all terrain moves on a bright red clay road with lots of bumps and ruts. After about 40 minutes of 4x4, we realized it is not an easy way and the trip is not for sissies. |

A few miles further ahead, we spot a wall of a boundless palm forest, enveloping this white deserted beach - Playa Rincon. We finally stand on the firm ground after jumping up and down in our safari drive. The beach that opens up seems to be wild and endless, embraced by picturesque green velvet hills which play with shades on the sun making an optical illusion of the moving hills.
And of course the ocean, with its warm waves of turquoise color not letting you out on the shore, making you swim far into the space of water without gravity.
Its a wonderful landscape to to see and admire, listening to the wind, waves and birds singing - all this gives an unforgettable feeling of freedom and harmony with nature.
Oh, no..just came to our minds: "What a pity that there is no place to eat ..." The second later a motoconcho guy appeared from nowhere offering to eat his freshly caught seafood. What a miracle this Playa Rincon is... |
