Toco with its National Museum, Galera Point lighthouse on the easternmost point of the island, Fishing Rock facing the Caribbean Sea. To the south of Sangre Grande, the largest city in the east of the island, you can find a 24-kilometer long line of prestine beaches. Toco Beach can be found along Trinidad’s coastal road between Toco and San Souci, and is easily reached by car. The area around the village of Toco is characterized by steep stretches of shoreline with soft white sands that slope toward lush forests and huge palm trees. The bays are small and secluded and the area’s blessed by gentle trade winds that blow throughout the year.
The pristine Manzanilla beach and Nariva swamp attract eco-tourism. Situated on Trinidad’s sparsely populated eastern coast, Manzanilla Beach has something really wonderful to offer visitors who venture to its shores. There’s a distinctly wild feel to the dark sands and the waves, and both the scenery and the wildlife are magnificent. For a beach that’s far enough from the urban centers to be unspoiled, but beautiful enough to attract a decent number of visitors, this place is everything you could hope for.
Maracas Bay
In the north-west of Trinidad, not far away from the capital, there is one of the most popular beach areas of the island - its Maracas Bay.

The infrastructure here is well developed as an excellent holiday destination, so it gets quite crowded sometimes. However, just a little bit to the east you can find a quiet Tyrico Bay, more suitable for a holiday with children, and a nice Las Cuevas beach. Tobago is known for its luxurious underwater world, untouched nature, deserted coasts and lush tropical forests.
Manowar Bay is the best beach area of Tobago with its long beaches of fine brown sand, excellent diving zone in the Gulf of Pirates and St. Giles Island of wild beaches and noisy bird colonies. Manowar Beach on the island’s north side is surely one of the prettiest. Situated in a sparsely populated area, this beach is an unspoiled haven where visitors can relax and enjoy the splendor; the sands are almost pure white. There are palm trees and the ocean’s magnificently clear. Conditions are fantastic for sunbathing, swimming or snorkeling. The setting’s romantic and the air clean. |
